Ruth in Hebrew means "compassionate friend". In the Bible- Ruth perfectly exemplifies this. In what appears to be an impossibly difficult situation- Ruth quickly turns outside of herself. She has perfect Christlike love for Naomi and serves her without a thought for herself.
